Installing ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Gateway Service

AssetWise integration with ProjectWise assumes an existing, operational ProjectWise system. Depending on how you choose to configure the integration, you may or may not need to install additional ProjectWise software, beyond what is already installed as part of your ProjectWise system.

For example, in the section, Planning Your Configuration , it discusses three possible locations you can install the ProjectWise Queue Engine and the ProjectWise Storage Driver components of the AssetWise ALIM ProjectWise Connector. You can install them:

on the AssetWise Information Integrity Server
or
on a dedicated server
or
on the ProjectWise Integration Server

If you choose to install these AssetWise ALIM ProjectWise Connector components on the AssetWise Information Integrity Server or on a dedicated server, then you also need to install ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Gateway Service on those computers. (Specifically, the Sync Service and ProjectWise Queue Engine requires ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Gateway Service, while the Storage Service / ProjectWise Storage Driver only requires ProjectWise Explorer.)

On the other hand, if you choose to install these AssetWise ALIM ProjectWise Connector components on the ProjectWise Integration Server, then the only additional ProjectWise software you need to install on this computer is ProjectWise Explorer (which may be there already, depending on how that server was originally configured).

Accept the default options when installing ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Gateway Service.
